The WSCC 2009 is set on April 24 to May 4 and it's happening in Thessaloniki, Greece. Galaxias Chess Club of Thessaloniki and the Greek Chess Federation hosts the Games Festival 2009 and it gives me the same "feel" as what the Asian Indoor Games offer.
No news whether RP will be sending representatives for the event. European exposure for our youth will surely benefit them.
World School Chess Championships is just one of the many events in the Festival. Other games included are 3rd Bridge International Festival, International Chess Open, scrabble, sudoku and darts.
So far, I haven't got a clue about our players joining any of the events.
