The NCFP Age Group Chess Championship began around 1:30 pm. It was announced it will start by 1PM after accomodating on-site registration from players residing in the provinces.
Updates by tommorrow!
CORRECTION:
The NCFP Age Group Chess Chmpionship began 330 PM. Most of the players and parents were already tired and exhausted to complain about it. Sadly, they had to wait for someone to open the games.
I asked someone how the venue was and I got a positive feedback. I was tolld that the entire building were meant for the players and parents were asked to go out of the playing venue. It wasn't hot nor cold and no cigarette smokes. I guess they have learned to choose a good playing venue.
Next thing to strive for? START ON TIME!
I don't wanna sound like I'm whining about the organizational capacities of the people behind this event but people were texting me and complaining about the indecisiveness on the part of the organizers. Imagine they were not sure if the tournament will be a 7 rounder or a 5 rounder? How's that for a National tournament?
Congratulations to all the winners for the first round! Paulo Bersamina for the 10 and Under, Tristan Wayne S. Dandan of 14 and Under. Did Joseph Bersamina win his game? Sorry lose for Maria Joyce Canta who once was under my mentorship. She is playing for the first time in the 12 and Under category.
Thanks goes to Lilet and Sally for the books and friendship!

It actually started at 3:30...two and a half hours late. Nice one, NCFP!
ReplyDeleteThey were late because they had to wait for some windbag Senator wannabe who obviously thought nothing of keeping children waiting.
