Heard there was this player who was asked to come for a try-out in one of the schools offering scholarship thru chess:
Coach: Sir sandali lang po ha at meeting lang po kami....
Dad: Ok...
Coach and Sports Director meets...talks....
Dad knocks....
Coach sandali lang po...
Dad goes back to his loving son....
Coach talks with sports director.....
After sometime, Dad comes in again..
Dad: Pinapunta nyo ba kami para lang paghintayin dito? (I can imagine smoke going out of this Dad's nosse, ears and eyes!)
Coach: Ay pasensya na po, ito po yung Sports Director ng school, kayo po mag usap....
Son (applicant) plays with the schools' resident gladiator.
First game...
Son smiles, grins, gave an impression to the resident gladiator, coach and on-lookers that he's taking the game lightly.
Gladiator Wins!
2nd Game....
Son (applicant) takes the second game seriously!
Gladiator wins!
Last words of the Director: Sir, you are welcome to study here, enroll"
End of the story!
The last time I asked if the father and son chessminds pushed thru, all I got was....
'Ewan ko kung nasan na sila..."
Moral of the story? "Relax man, you're the one who needs the school"
