NM Rolly Andador graced the Balinas Memorial Blitz Tournament at the Meralco Center last Feb. 2. As expected, he topped the event. The top 3 employees are: 1st-Abet Casiano of Baliwag Branch, 2nd-Darryl Mata of Sta. Rosa, 3rd-Rolly Sol Cruz of CPM. The top 3 juniors are: Paulo Bersamina of LSGH, JC Andan of Ateneo, and Jerome Saltorio of EARIST.
This Feb. 23, another blitz tournament is scheduled at the Meralco Center. International Arbiter and Xavier grade school coach Rolly Yutuc will be the guest player.

It is nice that Grandmaster Rosendo Balinas, Jr., the product of Meralco support during the glorious Lopez Meralco leadership, is aptly remembered.
ReplyDeleteBalinas was the Philippine champion during the year 1967 where he played toe to toe and almost beat Bobby Fischer. All the other best Philippine chess talents got beat by Bobby.

ReplyDeletethis is a late reaction. but it is better late than never. the meralco chess club has not talked with ia yutuc, nakakahiya naman sa kanya na makita niya ang name niya na na-sched sa amin without him and US knowing it.
