Ballerinas and Multimedia Artists

Hi there!

Here's something I have always wanted to share among you guys, a good friend and a well respected dance instructor, Ms. Belle Benco:

Teacher Bella’s innate love for children and ballet paved the way to teaching. She was first invited to teach at the Goldcrest Dance Workshop in 1984 and has since conducted lessons in different ballet schools here and abroad. She has staged several children’s ballet recitals – some of them include Alice in Wonderland, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas, Four Seasons, Mrs. Buchart’s Garden and Putting it Together. In each production, she was involved in the whole process of production – from conceptualization to choreography to costume and set designing.

Believing that part of teaching development requires acquiring knowledge, she took the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Teachers’ Seminar.

The School of Ballet and Dance Arts of Ms. Vella C. Damian was her home while learning the discipline of ballet. She became a member of the school’s performing group, the Dance Concert Company (under the Artistic Direction of the late Eric V. Cruz) where she performed in its various productions. She also participated in a couple of productions with the Philippine Ballet Theatre. Her dance training was supplemented with the dance workshops she has attended under William Morgan, Inday Gaston-Mañosa, Julie Borromeo and Mannie Rowe (Atlanta Ballet).

Teacher Bella’s artistic talent is very well complimented by her analytical mind. She is a part-time lecturer at the National Computer Institute, a member of Mensa (a prestigious worldwide organization) currently serving as a Board member of its local chapter, Mensa Philippines, and a student pursuing her master’s degree in Special Education at the University of the Philippines.

Last summer gave birth to her own school Allesi Ballet Center which provides ballet training to young talents of the City of Manila, her birthplace and of Better Living Subdivision in Parañaque City. Her school is affiliated with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet and is a member of the Association of Ballet Academies, Philippines.

Chess people, you have always been know to love the classics, the cultured and the cerebral activities, so you or someone you know might be interested to take up those dancing shoes.

And we another colleague of mine, a very young and talented multimedia artist from College of St. Benilde, Mr. Chino Yuseco-Tolentino. Ok whats with this guy? Well he is the newest addition to the roster of teachers here at Mahatma Gandhi International School, teaching art classes for the Primary Years and Middle Years Program.

His surname might ring a bell and to those of you who are in touch with who's who in the field of visual arts in our country, The Pearl of the Orient, Philippines. Tolentino? Guillermo Tolentino? Got it?

Mang Guillermo is known for creating and sculpting one of his masterpieces called UP Oblation. He is the recipient of the Natioanal Artist Award for the Visual Arts. that's his Grandpa and I believe, Chino (the Apo), has proven thru his artistic works that he got the genes from Mang Guillermo!

Here's what Chino is doing nowadays while he is out of the four corners of his classroom:

A great gift for a good friend. For orders, you may call or text Chino at 0917-8945161.

It feel so great to be surrounded by these young and talented creatures!
