While I have not blogged in the last few days the chessdom has continued to turn around all over the world.
The World Youth Chess Championship in Vietnam produced sorry results for our Philippine contingent. As always, if it involves our youth, there's always another tournament.
After ten rounds here's our player's standings:
Open 18: Carl Victor Ochoa on 36th
Open 16: Haridas Pascua on 25th, Alcon John Datu on 39th
Open 14: Jan Emmanuel Garcia on 6th, Prince Mark Aquino 63rd
Open 12: John Ray Batucan on 13th, Vince Angelo Medina 27th, Jerad Docena 45th
Open 10: Paulo Bersamina on 31st
Open 8: Haince Patrick De Leon on 21st, Kyle Ochoa 26th
Girls 8: NO REPRESENTATIVE
Girls 10: Samantha Glo Revita 48th
Girls 12: Rowelyn Acedo 28th
Girls 14: Chardine Cheradee Camacho 3rd, Jan Jodylin Fronda 20th,
Cherry Ann Mejia 45th
Girls 16: Jedara Docena on 7th, Cristy Lamiel Bernales 22nd
Girls 18: NO REPRESENTATIVE
Continue the fight and go for a respectable finish. Camacho is on 3rd and hopefully she stay within the top five tillthe end. Garci on 6th and we'll have to see if he gets within the top 5.
And there's a not so strange brew in the Philippine Team to Dresden. Our friend SCUGrad has some notes which hopefully reaches the NCFP Office.
Wake up NCFP!
And why the title post?
The past 5 days I am on break and found some silly news on TV: Bolante going back here in the Philippines to face charges of fraud, specifically the Fertilizer Scam which insiders say he co-authored with the President. C'mon people, here in our country, our Justice System believes the person is innocent until otherwise proven guilty in court. Jocjoc Bolante went straight to St. Luke's Medical Center. Hhmmm!
Don't you just love it when the rich and filthy make fun of our Judiciary System?
So what's up with you people?

Kiko,
ReplyDeleteHow's it going? I see that you have redesigned your blog, and it looks very, very nice. I have been out of chess for a while, but I will be trying to get my head into the game again.
