Headed by Coach Jong Uichico, The Digital learning modules was produced by the basketball federation of the Philippines. As of today, there are ten videos that teaches several defensive and offensive skills and ideas.

It's been 54 days since Luzon and other parts of the country was placed in Community Quarantine. I've gone full beard with regular haircut to full beard and skinhead and then crew cut to no facial hair at all.
In the last 54 days, me and my family has prayed the Holy Rosary together every five in the afternoon. During the Holy Week, we were able to pray Rosary in full, with Novena prayers to the Divine Mercy of Sister Faustina.
And it has been 99 days since the Philippines had its very first COVID-19 case courtesy of.......drum roll please, a 38-year-old Chinese woman from Wuhan, the origin of the disease. The woman arrived in Manila from Hong Kong on January 21.
And then:
February 2, 2020. Second case of COVID-19 in the Philippines. A 44-year-old Chinese male who was the companion of the first case. His death on February 1 was the first recorded outside China. He suffered from co-infection with influenza and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
February 5, 2020. Confirmed third case of 60-year-old Chinese woman who flew into Cebu City from Hong Kong on January 20 before she traveled to Bohol where she consulted a doctor at a private hospital on January 22, due to fever and rhinitis. Samples taken from the patient on January 24 returned a negative result, but the DOH was notified on February 3 that samples taken from the patient on January 23 tested positive for the virus. The patient upon recovery on January 31 was allowed to go home to China.
March 30, 2020. 128 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on 30 March, compared to 343 cases on 29 March. 7 additional deaths reported on 30 March, and 3 on 29 March.
April 15, 2020. A total of 5,453 confirmed cases reported in the Philippines, 55% are male, with the most affected age group 60-69 years.
May 1, 2020. A total of 8,772 confirmed cases reported. 68.4% of cases reported from National Capital Region (NCR), followed by CALABARZON (13.3%), Central Visayas (7.6%) and Central Luzon (4.4%). The large number of cases in Central Visayas is attributed to several localized outbreaks in Cebu barangays and prisons.
And on Sunday, May 10, 2020, we will be celebrating Mother's Day. Let us all remember honor our mothers and all the mothers all over the world.

By now the COVID-19, which has reached the pandemic level, has greatly affected everyone all over the world. The quick scan and survey of the latest Global Situation Report 54 (PDF) released by the World Health Organization as of March 14 at 10 AM: - 153,527 Confirmed cases - 5,733 Deaths - 144 countries, areas and territories with cases You may visit this interactive map of Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19) Situation.
And in the Philippines, the total number of reported cases went up to 144 with 12 deaths. The Department of Health seeks public cooperation. In a press release, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated:
“Now it is our turn to do our part in mitigating the spread of the disease. The DOH earnestly asks for everyone’s cooperation. Our front line health workers and medical personnel are risking their safety to respond to the needs of the public, all we ask is for you to do your part: practice preventive measures, go on strict home quarantine if you are experiencing mild symptoms, and help halt the spread of fake news. The success of our measures to contain COVID-19 is hinged on your participation. We will get through this together,” the Secretary added.
“At this most trying time, our strongest weapon as a nation is Vigilance, Preparedness, and Solidarity. We are seeing these values at play now as DOH is receiving an influx of support from individuals and organizations who are willing to render assistance in any way they can. Let this be a reminder for all Filipinos to step up to the plate and heed the call for cooperation,”
It is important to be aware of the implementation of the "Community Quarantine" tomorrow, March 17, Monday. The Inter-|Agency Task Force on the Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) adopts several measures when our country raised the |Code Red Sub-Level 2 of COVID-19.
Almost all events have been cancelled and the movement going in and out of the National Capital Region will be restricted and monitored closely. The Mayors of Metro Manila or NCR has issued a curfew to limit movement within the region.
Let us all help one another. Stay home and do your basic health improvement regimen. Avoid crowded places.
The children reported seeing a woman "brighter than the sun, shedding rays of light clearer and stronger than a crystal goblet filled with the most sparkling water and pierced by the burning rays of the sun." The woman wore a white mantle edged with gold and held a rosary in her hand. She asked them to devote themselves to the Holy Trinity and to pray "the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and an end to the war".
While the children had never told anyone about seeing the angel, Jacinta told her family about seeing the brightly lit woman. Lúcia had earlier said that the three should keep this experience private. Jacinta's disbelieving mother told neighbors about it as a joke, and within a day the whole village knew of the children's vision.
The three children were: Lucia dos Santos, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto.
A year before the Blessed Virgin appeared to the three children, Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta had three visions of an Angel in 1916. These visions remained unknown until 1937, when Lúcia revealed them for the first time.
The apparitions of Our Lady were advanced one year before by three apparitions of an angel who prepared the little seers to become messengers of the Mother of God.
According to Lúcia’s description, the first apparition of the Angel took place in the Spring of 1916, when the three peasant children were tending their herds and took shelter in a place called “Loca do Cabeço”. The second apparition happened in the Summer of 1916 at the well of Lúcia’s parents’ home, where the children used to play. The third apparition happened in the end of the Summer or beginning of the Fall of 1916, again at “Loca do Cabeço”.
First Apparition of the Angel
In spring in 1916 Lucia Dos Santos age 9, and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, ages 8 and 6 respectively, were at a meadow with their sheep in (hamlet of Fatima). It started raining, and they hid in a small cave to escape the rain. After the rain stopped and the sun came out, they stayed in the cave to eat their lunch, say the rosary and play a game of jacks. They had played but for a short while when, on the serene day, a strong wind blew that swayed the trees and a sudden white light enveloped them.
In the middle of that light appeared a cloud in the form of a young man who said to them:
"Fear not! I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me!"
The angel knelt on the ground and bowed very low. The children imitated the angel and repeated his words three times:
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You. I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You."
Then he rose and said:
"Pray this way. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications."
Second Apparition of the Angel
It happened in summer, when the seers were playing near the well of Lucia's house.
The Angel said to them:
"What are you doing? Pray! Pray a great deal. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices continually to the Most High."
The children asked: "How must we sacrifice ourselves?" The angel said:
"Make everything you do a sacrifice, and offer it as an act of reparation for the sins by which God is offended, and as a petition for the conversion of sinners. By this you will bring peace to your country. I'm its Guardian Angel, the Angel of Portugal. Above all accept and bear with submission all the suffering the Lord will send you."
From that moment, they began to offer to the Lord everything that offended Him, without trying to find any other ways of mortification or penance other than passing hour after hour, bowed to the ground, repeating the prayer that the angel had taught them.
Third apparition of the Angel
It happened in autumn at Cabeco. The children started prayers when they saw the angel, which had in his hand a chalice over which hung a Host, from which fell in the chalice some drops of Blood. He knelt and repeated three times with the children:
"Most Holy Trinity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I adore thee profoundly. I offer thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles in the world, in reparation for all the outrages, sacrileges and indifference whereby he is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners."
Then he rose, took the Host, and gave it to Lucia, while the contents of the chalice he gave to Jacinta and Francisco, and said:
"Take the Body and the Blood of Jesus Christ horribly outraged by thankless men. Recover their sins and comfort your God."
And from May to October 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary would appear to the three children every thirteenth of the month.
Sharing these links and info on my blog is my small gift and contribution to the celebration of the 100 years of the Apparition of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Fatima. I pray that everyone is given a chance to marvel the beauty and meaning of this historical and Earth-shattering event.

The Mystical City of God is a book written in the 17th century by the Franciscan nun Venerable Mary of Jesus of Agreda.
According to María de Ágreda, the book was to a considerable extent dictated to her by the Blessed Virgin Mary and regarded the life of the Virgin Mary and the divine plan for creation and the salvation of souls. The work alternates between descriptions of the Trinity, the Virgin Mary's life, and the spiritual guidance she provides to the author, by whom her words were reproduced for the spiritual benefit and growth of the reader.
The book describes at length the various virtues, and how the reader should live in order to see them reflected in their own life, with the Virgin Mary as their model for sanctity. The work has the Imprimatur of several Popes and Bishops and appeals primarily to those who believe in "private revelation" and the sanctity of Mary. Non-Catholic Christians generally do not accept the teaching of the Catholic Church and are consequently skeptical of works of this nature.
Various misinterpretations of her writings led to the extent that Mystical City of God was temporarily placed on the Church's Index Librorum Prohibitorum in August 1681. By the order of Blessed Innocent XI, however, the decree of condemnation was removed three months later, after it was shown that a faulty French translation was at the basis for the censure. The book was subsequently criticized by Jansenists and Gallicans in the 18th century, while the Church continued to defend its orthodoxy
In 1673, María de Ágreda was declared venerable soon after her death, but the process of her beatification has yet to be completed. Beatification and canonization do not authenticate revelations, however.

It is summer time for me and last weekend one of the things in my "must-do" list was accomplished: fix the roof before the rainy days become typhoon days. Water spout cleared and installed, roof nails hammered-in and sealant was applied all over.
I have six weeks for this summer break and I intend to make it as productive as I can. Tomorrow my daughter's teammates are coming over for a two-hour basketball training. I haven't met any of the girls in the team but my daughter P cautioned me that everyone's on the beginner level. And with that, I plan to follow the fundamental drills used by Coach Aik Ho in his basketball clinic in New Zealand:
Mother Mary, the Mother of God, and St. Michael the Archangel visiting a small, laid-back village called San Sebastian de Garabandal in the early years of 1960's.
"San Sebastian de Garabandal is situated at the very end of a winding road cut into the side of the mountain. A solitary cluster of nine pine trees stands starkly on a rise against the horizon to the south. The village itself consists of some eighty rustic stone buildings huddled together on a small strip of land overlooking a wooded valley.
Like Fatima and Lourdes, Garabandal is a place of unearthly serenity and beauty. The villagers were known throughout the region for their piety and their faithful observance of devotional prayer which they offered together as a community several times each day.
In 1961, it was the poorest and most isolated of all the agricultural hamlets in the region. The only access to the village was via the three and a half mile oxcart path that went up from Cosio, the next closest village."

Today is a Sunday and while I wait for this week's post to be uploaded, I checked out Frank Warren's Half A Million TED Talk and I'm sharing them to you below:
Today, February 10, 2016, marks the beginning of the Lenten Season and almost everyone in the Christian world observes this beginning with Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting, abstinence and repentance. The Latin Catholic Church or the Roman Catholic Church follows the regular Sunday Eucharistic celebration schedule --there is a celebration of the Holy Eucharist every hour in your parish most likely. In the early days, Christians adopted the use of ashes as a symbol of penance. The Bible makes no specific mention of Ash Wednesday, but practices observed during the day such as mourning in sackcloth and ashes are found all throughout the Old and New Testaments. According to Wikipedia we can find the significance of ash in the bible: "Ashes were used in ancient times to express grief. When Tamar was raped by her half-brother, "she sprinkled ashes on her head, tore her robe, and with her face buried in her hands went away crying" 2 Samuel 13:1. The gesture was also used to express sorrow for sins and faults. In Job 42: 3-6, Job says to God: "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes." The prophet Jeremiah calls for repentance by saying: "O daughter of my people, gird on sackcloth, roll in the ashes" Jeremiah 6:26. The prophet Daniel recounted pleading to God: "I turned to the Lord God, pleading in earnest prayer, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes" Daniel 9:3. Just prior to the New Testament period, the rebels fighting for Jewish independence, theMaccabees, prepared for battle using ashes: "That day they fasted and wore sackcloth; they sprinkled ashes on their heads and tore their clothes" Maccabees 3:47 and 4:39. Examples of the practice among Jews are found in several otherbooks of the Bible, including Numbers 19:9, Jonah 3:6, Book of Esther 4:1 and Hebrews 9:14. Jesus is quoted as speaking of the practice in Matthew 11:21 and Luke 10:13: "If the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago (sitting) in sackcloth and ashes." It is meaningful and important that this season, members of the church are encouraged to focus on renewal of one's spirituality and that Christ died on the cross for our sins. Finally I finished a certified course at Coursera! I enrolled and successfully completed the Sports and Society verified course. It helped a lot that I was granted the verified course under their scholarship scheme.
I think this is just the beginning, there will be more topics to explore, ideas to look into and a lot of discoveries to unearth.
I love to learn and I love teaching but earning certificates online may just be one of the many steps toward success. Certificates are not an assurance of success but this may lead one to a successful path towards one's goal. This also has motivated me to finish a set goal in a specified time frame.

Today I discovered that there was tribute concert for George Harrison called "Concert for George 2002". George Harrison is often referred to as the "quiet Beatle" who could make his guitar weep long after his days with the Fab Four.
Now we all know that this tribute concert won't be complete and successful without George's friends playing and paying tribute to him.
I've been a big fan of the Beatles and George's music produced after the break up of probably the most successful band in the world is a showcase of how important the guitarist role played in the quartet.
In this video, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr plays "Something" together with Eric Clapton and several others on stage. Sir Paul opened the song with a ukelele played it until the middle part of the song where electric guitars jammed along. Quite soulful without trying to be one. Ang ganda!
