Workshop: Storytelling 101

This morning I gave an introductory lecture and workshop on storytelling for the volunteers of the Mobile Reading Program of Imus City. There were twenty-five participants of varied age group. The number of the participants allowed everyone to participate in the discussion and workshop with ease.

Jollibee-Lotus was the organizer for this event in cooperation with the SK Federation of Imus City.

Thank you so much for the technical support you guys gave and congratulations to the participants of the workshop!

Happy storytelling! Storytelling 101

Pray For Us!

Let us all offer a moment of prayer for all the victims of MV Princess of the Stars!

This is not a work of God but rather, the work of Sulpicio Lines!

They are so good at killing people!

Stay away from them! PERWISYO Lines!

Summer Workshops

Hey there!

Summer time for the local schools officially started April 1 and you know what? here in the Philippines, Summer Lessons a' big business.

With a month and a half of idle time for students, it's very important that they do something worthwhile. Thank God lessons for anyone and everyone is available now. For the musically inclined, music lessons are offered here and there. Of course, the MILO Sports Clinic is also there to cater to the kinesthetically interested. They have basketball, volleyball, chess and so much more. Visual arts lessons also there.

While others are so busy taking a dip into the beaches of the Philippine Islands, the activity oriented parents do make sure their kids get the best summer lessons available.

This is not a fad I hope. If we will only review the vast contributions Howard Gardner as given to the theory of Multiple Intelligences, we will know that everyone has that inate potential to be the best, if only we will cater to their "preferred" intelligence.

For a more detailed run through of Howard Gardner's works, click here. For the MILO Summer Sports Program, check it out here.

Remember, a healthy mind in a healthy body!

Third Term for MGIS

Hey there!

The final push for the school year is here! After a rather tiring but satisfying Easter break, all systems go for the final term and everyone's raring to go.

With all the benchnarks and developmental domain skills laid down for my SPED students, I believe we're right on schedule. The importance of an assessment and evaluation as a source of baseline of information before the schoolyear is very much felt in the latter part of the curriculum.

One of my favorite assessment guide is the Brigance System, check it out!

The Day After

The Seminar Workshop entitled "Addressing and Handling Special Needs in the Regular Classroom" which was held yesterday at the Institute of Social Order, Ateneo de Manila from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon was a huge success!

The superb organizational skills of Paseo TLJ's Mr. and Mrs. Toti Sampedro is something you and I can learn from. Plus the fact that the seminar-workshop were facilitated by the tandem of Ms. Sonia and Yours Truly (hehehehe!) t'was another worthwhile endeavor. And of course, the participants enthusiasm every minute of the event!

Congratulations!

Pictures and parts of the video clips to follow!
