Dust and Cobwebs on our Blog

Hey there!

It has been months since I last posted here at the Cavite Football Academy blog. So much has happened since July up to this day. So let's round them up and be impressed with what our guys have been accomplishing while I gather these dust and cobwebs on our blog.

PCU-Dasmarinas High School Team. RIFA 2019-2020 Finalist.
PCU-Dasmarinas High School Football Team is playing in the Championship game of the Rizal Football Association (RIFA). RIFA is one of the toughest football tournaments in the country and to play in the finals says a lot about the program in PCU.

Bacoor City Meet Champions. Team UPHSD-Molino 2019-2020.

Fun times!
In Bacoor City DEPED Sports Meet, the University of Perpetual Help-Molino High School wins the gold and so is the Lyceum University of the General Trias City. In Imus City, Elizabeth Seton-South wins the gold for High School while Governor D.M. Camerino wins their back-to-back championship in the Elementary division. These teams will represent the Cities of Bacoor, General Trias, and Imus respectively, either in the Provincial Meet or straight to the Regionals, STCAA.

In the Season 2 of Speed Regalo-Youth Football League, players from around Metro Manila and neighboring provinces are having the time of their lives as they play for their clubs. Although the scheduling is truly heavy, Sundays and Saturdays have games, YFL has continued to provide the much needed year-round football competitions for our budding athletes.

Meanwhile, Cavite Football Academy, its players, coaches, and parents, visited the Governor's Office and presented their achievements to Governor Jonvic Remulla. Here are some photos I got from our group.

The Local Government of Province of Cavite has one of the most efficient models for football development in the country. Much can be learned from this.

Until then!

CFA @Carmeltown Football Cup 2019

I created this video two weeks courtesy of the parents who have been very supportive about CFA's blog. I've been holding back in posting and sharing this video because I wanted to have the official results of the 6th Carmeltown Football Cup.

But I couldn't wait any longer. So here it is, a compilation of photos and videos of the Cavite Football Academy  Teams  for Carmeltown Football Cup:

You may visit my Youtube chanel at The Brown Man Diary for more football, basketball and chess videos I made.

As young as their club is, we can see a potential in the club's growth in terms of membership and organization's direction. With the steady increase of the game's popularity in the City, I am casting my hope and support to IUFC's success.

Here are the tournaments and rankings they have played in the last six months:

Imus United Football Club

Introducing Imus United Football Club, incorporated:
A club founded in April 2016, IUFC,Inc., is a non-profit organization which aims to develop athletes capable of availing scholarships to ensure their future.

Coach Lee Geluz is the club's team manager and currently an assistant to the Director for Youth Development of Imus City. He has worked as part of the coaching staff of NOMADS Football Academy and De La Salle Santiago Zobel School.

A product of Elizabeth Seton-South, Coach Lee went on to play football for Topshot FC and IUFS Senior Team. He trains kids every Saturday PRO BONO. Le' me repeat, PRO BONO. Libre, for free year-round.

IUFC has helped trained, discovered talents in the city and was instrumental last year in preparing the Imus City football teams for the DEPED qualifiers to Palarong Pambansa. They also meet regularly for training at the Tishabet Field, a place where dreams are made and goals are worked on.

Tishabet Field is also a venue for many sports events. IUFC has also used the newly-built Imus City Grandstand with an artificial grass football pitch.

Let's check out some photos:

We will be hearing more from them in the next few weeks,

Football Clinics and Open Play in Cavite

Hello! What's up everyone?

I have something to tell you just in case you didn't know. Agua de Mayo happened right on the first day of May. Here's something I found online when I typed-in "first rains of May":

"AGUA de Mayo—a Spanish term which means “water of May”—refers to the first rainfall of May that is believed to have healing properties.

The rain drew much attention as it became a trending topic in Twitter, a social networking site. Questions about the “miracle” that comes with it have been raised here and there.

However, according to reports, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that there is no truth to the belief that Agua de Mayo brings healing."

And yes, April is gone and for most of our young ones, June is merely five weeks away. The'll be back in the classrooms soon.

So what can our soon-to-be-classroom-loungers do in the next five weeks?

Send them to football clinics and open plays, As-Soon-As-Possible!

I'm sharing some of the announcements here, I am in no way paid to run these posters here. You may call them directly.

Immaculate Conception Academy in Dasmarinas City is the feeder program of Emilio Aguinaldo College for the Philippines' National Collegiate Athletic Association. Why not start connecting with the coaches there if you wish your son's football skills be showcased in the nationals?

For an inspiration, check out my former student at Beacon School with the news Xavi Zubiri Brings La Salle to Final Four, my boy wearing Jersey #15.

Futbol Fanatics is the first football school my sons joined and learned from. I think their summer camp ends with the Belo Cup at the Cuenca Field in Ayala Alabang Village.

For those residing in the "upland" part (Dasmarinas, Silang, Trece Martirez, General Trias and Tagaytay), check out Coach Segundo "Gonie" Seluria Jr.'s Football Clinic:

PCU-Damarinas Football Clinic
Saturdays
4 PM to 6 PM with PCU Club UNTIL 1st Week of June
3x a week after 1st week of June
12 sessions
Php 2,500.00 for Non-PCU Students
Php 2,000.00 for PCU Students
Starts May 4, 2005

And if you want them to get a "feel" of the game, you can bring them to an Open Play. What is an open play? It's like a pick-up game in basketball. Providing your child the opportunity to play the game will allow them to find out if it is something they want to pursue. King's Alley Football does just that.

Play on!
