ANGELES CHESSFEST GETS UNDERWAYBY: MARLON BERNARDINO
THE Good Move Chess Club headed by National Master (MN) Home Cunanan annouced yesterday the staging of " Haring Bastos 2050 and Below Chess Tournament" on July 14, 9:00am at the Robinson's Balibago Mall in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The seven round Swiss-system tournament with 25 minutes each to finish tha game is sponsored by Sydney Bus operator candidate master Angelito Camer.
"We would like to thank Mr. Angelito Camer for helping us to stage this tournament which aims to promote chess in the grass roots level and discover and to tap future world class player." said multi-titled San Sebastian coach NM Homer Cunanan.
Champion to fourth placer will receive P4,000, P2,000, P1,000 and P800 plus trophies each. Category prizes of P500 will go to the top under-12, under-16, under-20, unrated player Angeles City player, lady player and 50-year-old.
