Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas-Cavite hosted the SBP Coaches Accreditation and Licensure Seminar 1 & 2 last weekend, March 9 to 10 at De La Salle University-Health and Sciences Institute.Coach Jong Uichico, the SBP head for Coaches Commission, together with SBP Clinicians,Ryn Betia, Mark Solao, Xander Gubat and Martin Alido were present to share their expertise on Coaching Basketball at various levels of playing.
More than a hundred participants attended the two-day Coaches' Clinic which catered to coaches of Region 4, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas and Laguna.
A select group of high school players from DLSU-Dasmarinas helped out in the afternoon of Day 1 for the demonstration of concepts and key points.
Topics included the following:
- Zone Offense and Defense: Defending and Playing it
- Ball Screens
- Strength and Conditioning
- Basics of Basketball: Rebounding
- Zone Pressure
- Stages of Offense: Primary, Secondary and Plays
- And a whole lot more
