Reality TV has been around for more than a decade and the 1999 movie EDtv screened out of competition at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival is a classic example of what a reality TV show is.
I believe chess is hard to sell on TV and sponsors are not really dying to have spend their millions to promote the game compared to football, basketball, billiards and other sports.
But thanks to the chess playing dudes and dudettes for launching the Xtreme Chess Championship, Jennifer Shahade, Greg Shahade and Daniel Meirmon.
